Terms of Service
The terms that apply when you use our website, apply for admission, or sign in to a Health Access Institute portal.
Effective 4 August 2026
About these terms
These terms govern your use of the Health Access Institute website and the online portals operated under it, including the applicant portal, the student portal and any online payment facility. By using the site or creating an account, you agree to them.
These terms cover your use of our online services. They do not replace the academic regulations, student handbook or offer letter that govern your enrolment — where those documents deal with a matter directly, they take precedence.
About the Institute
Health Access Institute is a healthcare training institution based at Oyarifa, Accra, Ghana, offering accredited Higher National Diploma and certificate programmes together with continuing professional development courses.
Programme details published on this site — including duration, entry requirements, curriculum and fees — are provided for guidance. They may be revised where accreditation requirements, regulation or operational needs change.
Eligibility and your account
- You must provide accurate, complete and current information when you register and keep it up to date.
- Your account is personal to you. You may not share your password or allow anyone else to use your account.
- You are responsible for everything done through your account, and must notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access.
- If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must consent to your use of the portals and to your application.
Applications and admission
- Submitting an application does not guarantee an offer. Admission is at the Institute's discretion and depends on meeting the published entry requirements.
- Documents you upload must be genuine and must belong to you. Submitting forged, altered or another person's documents will result in your application being rejected.
- Where false or misleading information is discovered after admission, the Institute may withdraw the offer or terminate your enrolment, and may report the matter to the relevant authorities.
- Offers may be conditional. A conditional offer lapses if the stated conditions are not met by the deadline given.
Fees and payment
- Fees are quoted and payable in Ghana Cedis unless stated otherwise.
- Application and processing fees are payable when you submit your application and cover the cost of assessing it.
- Tuition and other fees fall due on the dates published for each semester. Registration, examination entry and the release of results may be withheld while fees remain outstanding.
- Online payments are processed by Paystack. Your bank or mobile-money provider may apply its own charges, which are not set by the Institute.
- A payment is only treated as received once it has been confirmed by the payment processor and allocated to your account.
Fee schedules published on this site apply to the academic year stated on them and are subject to revision for subsequent years.
Refunds
Requests for a refund of tuition or other fees are considered under the Institute's fees and refunds policy, which takes account of when in the semester the request is made and what services have already been delivered.
Application and processing fees are not refundable once assessment of your application has begun, including where the application is unsuccessful. Where a payment is made in error or duplicated, contact us and we will investigate and correct it.
Academic regulations
Your progression, assessment and graduation are governed by the Institute's academic regulations, which are issued to you on enrolment and form part of your agreement with us.
Results published in the student portal are provisional until confirmed by the relevant board of examiners. Where an error is identified, the Institute may correct a published result and will notify you if it does.
Acceptable use of our portals
When using our website or portals, you must not:
- Attempt to gain access to any account, record or area you are not authorised to use
- Interfere with, disrupt, probe or attempt to circumvent the security of our systems
- Upload malicious code, or content that is unlawful, defamatory or infringes someone else's rights
- Copy, scrape or extract data from the site by automated means without our written permission
- Impersonate another person, or misrepresent your association with any person or institution
Intellectual property
The content of this site and of our portals — including text, images, course materials, logos and the Health Access Institute name — belongs to the Institute or to its licensors, and is protected by copyright and trade mark law.
Course materials made available to you through the portals are licensed for your personal study only. You may not republish, redistribute or commercially exploit them without our written permission.
You keep ownership of the documents and work you upload. By uploading them, you grant us permission to store and use them for the purposes of assessing your application and administering your studies.
Availability of the service
We aim to keep the site and portals available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Services may be unavailable during maintenance, or because of failures outside our control.
Where a deadline falls during a period of unavailability that is our responsibility — an application or registration deadline, for instance — we will extend it by a reasonable period.
Limitation of liability
We provide the site and portals with reasonable care and skill. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of data, profit or opportunity arising from your use of, or inability to use, the service.
Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
Suspension and termination
We may suspend or close your portal account where you breach these terms, where your account is being used fraudulently, or where we are required to do so by law. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will tell you first and give you an opportunity to respond.
Closing an account does not cancel fees already due, and does not affect records we are required to retain.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Ghana, and the courts of Ghana have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
Changes to these terms
We may revise these terms from time to time. The effective date at the top of this page shows when the current version took effect, and continued use of the site after that date means you accept the revised terms.
